Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh and also starring Ananya Panday in the lead role, hit screens on Thursday. The film received lukewarm response from fans and critics alike, even from its US premiers. Releasing in multiple languages including Telugu and Hindi, the film saw Vijay play the titular character. He played a chai-wala who goes on to represent India at MMA championships. Ananya played a social media influencer while Ramya Krishnan played his mother in the film. Ronit Roy and Mike Tyson played key roles.
Vijay has another film lined up with Puri, titled JGM, that’s yet to go on-floors and has fans worried. He also shot for a film called Kushi with Shiva Nirvana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
