Job Context

    BRAC is one of the world`s leading development organization. Since 1972 BRAC is dedicated to alleviating poverty and empowerment of the poor. In continuation to that, BRAC has taken Humanitarian Crisis Management Project in Ukhia and Teknaf Upazila of Cox`s Bazar district to support the displaced people arriving from the Rakhine state of Myanmar.

Job Responsibilities

  • Formulate Four voluntary groups (men, women, Youth boys and youth girls) among Rohingya community through Focused group discussion (FGD), individual meeting, informal communication, door-to-door meeting in the community and other possible methods within the guidelines of protection principles.
  • Maintain regular contact and make good relationship with them through field visits to address community issues by consultation.
  • Organize and conduct meeting and awareness session with them on various social, health and concurrent issues on weekly basis; observance of different days advised by UN and BRAC in the refugee areas.
  • Recruit, train volunteer and update database of all the volunteer in the respective zone of responsibility.
  • Provide technical and managerial supervision to the volunteer including giving guidance, advice on their work, maintain attendance record and monitor and evaluate their performance.
  • Be responsible for Community centre management. Monitoring the Centre needs of the community and providing life-saving messaging/ and also initiating awareness session when necessary.
  • Sharing updated report from all the community center weekly and monthly.
  • Keep coordination with other service provider and CIC office by ensuring regular presence in CIC meeting and camp related activities doing by CIC office or site management team.
  • Conduct visits to all community Outreach sites to coordinate and monitor staff outreach activities.
  • Perform a variety of outreach activities such as establishing contacts and attended community meetings.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Bachelors in Development Studies / Social Science / Political Science / International Relation will get preference

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Gender Base Violence and Protection in Emergency context
  • Good knowledge of Community Based Protection in Emergency context.
  • Ability to handle a large amount of Team.
  • Fluency in writing and speaking in both English and Bengali language
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word , Excel & Power point)
  • Teamwork spirit and community mobilization skills
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
