Producer Goldie Behl recently opened up about the cancel and boycott culture in Bollywood. He also spoke about its effect on the film’s performance at the box office.

In an interview with a news portal, Goldie came out in support of Vijay Deverakonda starrer ‘Liger’ and its failure at the box office. According to him, no film can tank at the box office because of a trend of boycotting a film. He added that if you see the percentage of the people going to theatres to watch the film vs on social media you will get the answer out there.

Talking about the boycott calls in the industry, Goldie added he firmly believes that no trend or anything can stop a good film from succeeding. According to him, he has been in the industry for a very long time and if a film connects with the audience, nothing can stop it from succeeding. But at the same time, it’s really unfortunate that people are building up this negativity. He doesn’t know if such hate campaigns are affecting the performances of the film or if it’s coinciding with the film not doing well. However, a good movie will work despite all odds, the producer told Spotboye.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, ‘Liger’ starred Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in lead roles. It also featured actors like Ronit Roy, Ramya Krishnan and others. The makers had also roped in boxing legend Mike Tyson for a special cameo.
